Govinda ala re

Mumbai, August 28: He was in the wilderness for a while. But with the success of ‘Life Partner’, the original darling of the B’town box-office, Govinda, seems to be back in full form and for good.

‘Life Partner’ has clicked with audiences and the Govinda-magic seems to be working all over again. For one, how could a film released on the holy day of ‘Janmashthami’ or ‘Govinda’, as it is called, not be a hit for the actor, who takes his name from it?

The film, which sees him paired up with the beauteous Amrita Rao, features the actor in the quirkiest role of them all, as a marriage-averse divorce lawyer.

But the audiences have just lapped it up, even braving through the Swine Flu epidemic, to get their dose of Govinda, both inside and outside the theatres.

Bollywood Hit By Swine Flu, But No One Is Complaining

Mumbai, August 17: Shabana Azmi-“The swine flu has not really affected our lives at all. The hysteria it has generated can only hamper the cure. Instead of apportioning blame we should act as responsible citizens and make sure the citizens are alerted, warned and informed about the disease.”

Hema Malini-“I’m not able to understand the gravity of it. I’m scheduled to perform at several places for Janmashtami. But now the shows are being cancelled and I feel the seriousness of the situation. We shouldn’t take it lightly. We need to be very careful.”

Bipasha Basu-“I’m in London. But I heard about it. It’s really sad and scary. I hope things return to normal very soon.”

Mumbai, August 14: ‘Marriage’ is the union of two souls in a bond, which lasts a lifetime. Though practically, there is far too much that goes into actually managing a ‘marriage’. This is what ‘Life Partner’ is all about in a nutshell.

It is a story about three friends, Karan (Fardeen Khan) for whom ‘Love marriage is the perfect bet’, Bhavesh (Tusshar Kapoor) who does not believe in the concept of ‘Dating’ and prefers an arranged set up and then there’s Jeet (Govinda) a divorce lawyer who believes in ‘No marriage’.

Karan’s and Bhavesh’s lives turn upside down when they marry their respective partners, Sanjana (Genelia D’souza) and Prachi (Prachi Desai) and how they re-affirm their faith in the institution of marriage is what the rest of the film all about.

Don't come too close, Prachi Desai tells Tusshar Kapoor

Mumbai, April 20 Tusshar Kapoor says Prachi Desai, who stars opposite him in "Life Partner", was not comfortable doing intimate scenes with him and was too much into the "don't touch me" mode.

"She is just a 20-year-old girl yaar and a shy one at that," Tusshar said. "What could I have done other than wait for the passage of time? I tried talking to her and get into frequent chats. She was a lot into 'Don't touch me' and 'Don't get too close to me' mode," Tusshar told IANS.

"Even though she may not have said so all the time, I could make out that she was uncomfortable. I reasoned with her that though off camera she could be the way she wants, once the camera is rolling, there is nothing wrong if we get cosy," he added.
