Jay Leno hospitalised

London, April 24: US chat show host Jay Leno has been hospitalised due to food poisioning and had to cancel the recording of his late night chat programme "The Tonight Show".

Leno was supposed to chat with actor Ryan Reynolds Thursday on his show, but the shoot had to be cancelled after he was taken ill. He checked into a Los Angeles hospital, reported contactmusic.com.

Insiders suggest Leno was suffering from food poisoning. The health scare comes a month before the star ends his run as the host of "The Tonight Show" on May 19.

"It's not in my wish list either. However, there comes a point in your career where you get a film that requires you to shed your inhibitions. Of course, the role that I play has to be of utmost importance - if it is justified for the character to wear a bikini, then I won't fret about it," Anjana told IANS.

Pamela Anderson seeks Putin's help in seal slaughter ban

London, April 24 (IANS) Former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson has made a personal plea to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin asking him to help her ban the slaughter of baby seals in her native Canada.

The Russian leader was recently applauded by animal lovers all over the world for overseeing a ban on the hunting of young harp seals, and now Anderson has asked him to urge Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to follow his lead, reported femalefirst.co.uk

"The Canadian government has refused to budge on this issue despite widespread protests and international bans on the trade in baby seal skins. I collected thousands of signatures myself and personally delivered the petition to parliament, to no avail," said Anderson in her letter to Putin.

Jennifer Lopez feels her daughter is a diva too

London, April 24: Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez says her daughter Emme will follow in her footsteps as the 14-month-old has inherited her diva-like attitude.

Emme and her twin Max celebrated their first birthdays in February and Lopez reveals she and husband Marc Anthony are starting to notice familiar personality traits in both of them, reported contactmusic.com.

"We call her Emme-tude because we're like, 'She's giving us Emme-tude right now'," said Lopez.

"She gets that from her dad. I'm kidding - she gets it from me," she added.

But Lopez insists little Max is most like his mother, adding: "Me and Marc are always claiming he's got my head and he's got my mouth."

'Circus' tour taking toll on Britney Spears

xLondon, April 24:Pop star Britney Spears, who is on a world tour called "Circus", is struggling with her energetic dance routines as the high-voltage performance makes her dizzy and nauseous. It also costs her clumps of her hair.

In one of her most recent shows in North America, a suspended dancer yanks off a handful of hair from Spears' head as he attempts to pull her into the air with him, reported contactmusic.com

"The choreography is insane. It's so fast it is really taking its toll on her (Britney). There is one move during (the song) 'Touch Of My Hand', where two guys dangle from the ceiling and pick her up upside down, which is really getting to her," said a source.

Shyam Benegal wraps up 'Well Done Abba'

Veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal is ready with his next venture "Well Done Abba", a satirical comedy that stars Boman Irani in a double role.

The film that is inspired by two short stories - "Narsaiyyan Ki Bavdi" by Jeelani Bano and "Phulwa Ka Pul" by Sanjeev - is produced by Big Pictures and also stars Minissha Lamba and Sammir Dattani in pivotal roles.

The story revolves around a driver working in Mumbai who takes a month's leave to find a husband for his teenage daughter, said a release from Big Pictures.

The film has been shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Hrithik teams up with Ganesh Hegde again

Hrithik Roshan and ace choreographer Ganesh Hegde created magic with the dance moves in "Koi Mil Gaya" and the two have teamed up again - but this time for a TV commercial for popular biscuit brand Hide-n-Seek.

"The commercial required a radically different sound concept and what Ganesh conceived, composed and executed was brilliant," Hrithik said in a statement.

"Working on the commercial with Ganesh was a gift from god. After three agonising years with damaged knees, managing to justify his genius choreography was extremely challenging. I'm happy to say that this one is going to be our best yet and the entire credit goes to Ganesh," said the actor, who underwent a knee surgery last year.

The TV ad will be aired later this month.

Salman passes on lucky name Prem to Arbaaz

Bollywood star Salman Khan has found a new way to pass on his luck to younger brother Arbaaz Khan - by passing on his lucky screen name Prem.

The actor suggested that Arbaaz name his character Prem in his upcoming film "Prem The Game", where he plays the lead.

"Earlier, Arbaaz's character was called by a different name. But Salman suggested that he call his character Prem. So, Arbaaz changed his name to 'Prem'," said a source close to the actor.

Filmmaker Mani Kaul is Osian's new festival director

Filmmaker Mani Kaul, who has made movies like "Uski Roti" (1970), "Duvidha" (1973), has taken over as the new director general of the Osian's-Cinefan Film Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema.

Kaul succeeds film historian Aruna Vasudev, who retired after the 10th edition of the fest last year.

"Irrespective of its independent or mainstream origin, we will strive for a dispassionate portrayal of new and bold cinema. Our programme will range from uncompromising experimentation in films, to an archival kind of cross reference between cinemas of the world, to an articulation of an emerging, thinking new stream cinema in India," Kaul said on the 11th edition of the fest in a statement released here Wednesday.

Madonna back to gym after fall from horse

Pop superstar Madonna headed straight to her gym for a workout, just three days after she was hospitalised after falling off a horse.

Madonna's trainer Tracy Anderson insists that injuries are minimal and would not disrupt the singer's exercise schedule, reports femalefirst.co.uk. She is currently preparing for her ongoing Sticky and Sweet world tour.

"She's going to be fine. She fell on her butt. She's fine. We're going to train tomorrow. There are no shortcuts when you're training in that way. We have our set training. She's like a professional athlete. She can't mess around with her training. I mean, she has to be able to perform in front of 70,000 people," Anderson told Usmagazine.com.
