Aarakshan : The Review

Credits:

Director : Prakash Jha

Cast : Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpayee,Prateik Babbar, Deepika Padukone, Tanvi Azmi

Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’ is not a welcomed surprise as the filmmaker has neither ably conveyed the underlying sensitive theme of reservation in education sector with gravity nor has he done an impressive job by making a meticulously etched social issue film.

The film is remarkably sloppy throughout and for this obvious reason, it lacks instinctive nuances.

Jha along with Anjum Rajabali has just conjured up a lean script that is a tangle of loose ends.

The filmmaker hasn’t paid careful attention to every detail in the film. The story has too many flaws and the screenplay meanders along, leaving you in a huff. The story fails to engage as ‘Aarakshan’ diverges substantially.
