Biography

Simi Garewal is a gorgeous Indian actress and a famed talk show host.
Simi was born on Oct. 17, 1947 into a Jat Sikh Garewal Family in Ludhiana, Punjab. Her father served as a brigadier with the armed forces.
Simi was brought up in England but she returned to India when she was a teenager to pursue an acting career. She had to learn Hindi to cope with Bollywood. Simi was enrolled in Filmalaya Acting School. Her immaculate English accent landed her a role with Feroz Khan in the movie ‘Tarzan Goes to India’ in the year 1962.
Simi has the credit of working under well-known directors like Satyajit Ray in ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’, Raj Kapoor in ‘Mera Naam Joker’, Raj Khosla in ‘Do Badan’, to name a few.
Simi hosted the show ‘It’s a Woman’s World’ which was aired on Doordarshan. Simi is widely known for anchoring the talk show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’ aired on Star Plus. Her performance in this show was widely applauded and brought her laurels.
She won the Screen Award for Best Talk Show and Best Anchor, the Radio and TV Advertising Practitioners Association of India Award for Best Talk Show and Best Anchor, Indian Television Academy Award for Best Anchor, the Indian Film-goers Association Award for Best Talk Show and many more.
She carved a niche for himself as ‘The Lady in White’ based on the fact that she wears her trademark, white dress during the TV shows and ceremonies.
Simi slated for a comeback with the movie ‘Shorkut: The Con Is On’, but unfortunately, her role was discarded from the movie due to unavoidable circumstances.
Simi married Ravi Mohan but they got separated.
