Biography

The famous actor of yesteryears who wore a hat for a very long time and later, much to his audience’s surprise revealed that he was bald. Born on Sept. 6, 1949, Rakesh Roshan is not only a famous actor but a successful director and producer.

Success came to him in the shimmering form of a baldpate which he proudly exposed after he hit a success with his directorial venture ‘Khudgarz’.

Born in a family of musicians, Rakesh Roshan’s father and his brother are successful composers in the film industry. He has acted in over 60 films throughout the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

After that, he started promoting his son Hritik Roshan and launched him by directing a film for him. The film ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ is the highest grosser of 2000 and entered the Limca Book of Records for the highest number of awards won by a Bollywood film.

He also directed his son in ‘Koi... Mil Gaya’ and its sequel ‘Krrish’ in 2006. Both the films rocked at the box office.

In 2008, he produced the film ‘Krazzy 4’. In 2010, he released a Bollywood meets Hollywood crossover film titled ‘Kites’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori.
