SRK charms fans at 'Don 2' Berlin premiere
The charismatic megastar enthralled the crowds gathered to watch the premier of his latest action thriller 'Don 2' at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday night.
Braving Berlin’s bitter cold temperatures, a swarm of wide-eyed fans waited patiently for hours outside the Friedrichstadt Palace to get a glimpse of the Bollywood Baadshah, cheering rapturously as he appeared before them.
The 46-year-old actor enjoyed a huge fan following in the German public, especially women.
A lady travelled all the way from Switzerland to see the actor, while another couple from the south of Germany spent close to 1,000 Euros to attend the film screening of 'Don 2' that promised a live interaction with SRK.
"Shah Rukh, we love you" they screamed as King Khan smiled, waved, chatted and signed autographs.
Arrives in chartered flight
The organizers of the festival and his fans had been disappointed when SRK had to cancel his Berlin plans after coming down with a severe bout of cold and flu.
To add to his woes, his flight to Germany was cancelled at the last minute. However, beating all odds, Khan, with wifey Gauri made it in time to the red carpet by a private jet.
He tweeted Sunday morning, "yay..made it to brrrlin. needed to replenish the love i give on screen & no better place to get it bak than germany. so many hugs 7 kisses."
"Flt cancelled got to be with my princess who won a gold medal. Reliance has got me a plane to take me to berlin.all good," he added.
Bubbly interaction on stage
Looking dapper in a formal tuxedo, dimpled smile intact, Shahrukh got a standing ovation from an audience of over 1,800 as he came on stage to unveil his blockbuster.
With his trademark flourish, the King of Bollywood did a handstand, tried to teach Bollywood dance to the Festival director Dieter Kosslick and quoted a few lines from the film sending the cheering crowds into frenzy.
He was later joined on stage by co-actress Priyanka Chopra, director Farhan Akhtar, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, German actor Florian Lukas and some other members of the cast and crew.
