If latest rumors are to be believed, the production house is considering the talented actress for the second installment of their successful 'Dhoom' franchise, which is slated to release on Christmas 2012.

Rani back in YRF camp?
Though her last film with Yash Raj Films ‘Dil Bole Hadipaa’ proved to be a debacle, the banner is busy chalking out a meaty role for their home turf Rani in ‘Dhoom 3’.

Last year, media reports confirmed about Katrina Kaif being the leading lady of the film. Now, buzz has it that Rani would also join the star cast.

A source close to the film revealed, “Rani might be seen in a role similar to Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2."

“In Dhoom 3, Aamir is playing the villain and Rani shares a fabulous rapport with him. In fact, she had once mentioned on a chat show how Aamir had been her best co-star among all Khans,” the source informed.

According to various media reports, “YRF has three big films with the Khans - Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. Two of these projects are already on floors. This leaves only Dhoom3 open with a challenging female role.”

“Rani too is keen on being a part of the film. She will take a call soon,” added the source.

Along with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, the film will also star Katrina Kaif and Aamir Khan in lead roles.

However, YRF spokesperson said, “We will make a D 3 announcement as and when there is something new to share.”

Rani spotted with Aditya Chopra
Earlier this month, Rani was photographed at Mumbai airport with rumored beau and filmmaker Aditya Chopra while returning from a holiday in Europe.

When asked about the matter, Rani told a daily, “I have nothing to hide.”

"I went for my holiday and returned from it in public. I was just tired as I had a long flight but there was absolutely nothing to hide."

Asked if marriage announcement is on cards, she said, "I myself am not aware of my wedding date. When I know the date, I will tell the whole world about it. I promise not to get married secretly or suddenly. When marriage happens, it will be a proper one - customs, traditions and all."
