Sargun Mehta will play the role of Ganga in a popular telly soap, Balika Vadhu, which was played earlier by Sriti Jha. It is said that Sriti Jha was not happy with the depth of her role as Ganga and had plans to quit the show for many months but was unable to do so as she had entered the contract. As the term of the contract is over now, the replacement has been made. Sargun Mehta, whose last appearance was in Kya Hua Tera Vada, would commence the shooting from 1st November.
When she was asked about the replacement, she said that she was not interested in replacing anyone. She also added that she hoped that the audience would accept her as they relate the characters of the serial with the actors who play their roles. Sargun also added that she was quiet the opposite of the characterization of Ganga. Being very talkative and cannot remain silent even for a moment, she thinks that it is a big challenge for her to play the role as Ganga is not a talkative character. Sargun also said that she hoped that Ganga would become more vocal in the serial.
Sargun Mehta said that she loved the serial Balika Vadhu right from her college days and never imagined that she would land in such a role. She also expressed that she was wondering whether she would be able to carry the role. However, as she is here already, she hoped to utilize the most out of it. The 24-year-old actress took to social media site Twitter to express her happiness and to make the announcement. She tweeted that she has news that she is back with the role of Ganga on the much loved show on Colors TV, Balika Vadhu that would be aired at 8 pm. She also made an appeal to all to watch the serial.
Sargun’s debut appearance was in 12/24 Karol Bagh and later starred in Phulwa. She and her boyfriend, actor Ravi Dubey bagged the first runner in Nach Baliye 5. The upcoming episodes of Balika Vadhu would feature the love life of Ganga and Jagya.
