Grapevine has it that Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rockstar’ and Imran Khan’s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ are slated to release on the same date.

Well, at the outset the makers of the Ranbir Kapoor-Nargis Fakhri starrer ‘Rockstar’ were mulling to release the film on Eid, along with the Salman Khan-starrer ‘Bodyguard’.

But in no time the filmmakers realized that Salman’s last two releases ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg’, which were released on Eid, had left the registers ringing at the box-office and consequently, the moviemakers didn’t wish to take a risk by releasing ‘Rockstar’ on the same date.

Well, now it’s learnt that Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ is gearing up to hit the silver screens on September 9, the same day when Aditya Chopra’s MBKD featuring Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif will be released.

A source said, “The trade advised them not to clash with Bodyguard because Salman's last two Eid releases Wanted and Dabangg have proved that he is invincible at that point.

So, Rockstar was preparing for a September 9 release. But even before they could announce the date, Aditya Chopra announced that he will release Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with Katrina Kaif and Imran on this date. So, now Ranbir and Imran will clash instead of Ranbir and Salman."
