For the first time, this Senegalese-American caroler will be celebrating his 38th birthday (April 15), away from home, with the King Khan and other A-list actors of the B-town in Mumbai.

Reportedly, Akon, aka Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam, was supposed to come this week for his concerts, however, he postponed the event after his birthday in order to commemorate the occasion with the Bollywood celebrities.

The 'Ra.One' crooner will be attending a press conference on 15th morning, followed by his concerts on April 16 in Gurgaon and April 17 in Bangalore.

As quoted by Mid-Day, an industry insider revealed, “The concerts were actually supposed to kick off this weekend. But he postponed his trip to be able to celebrate his birthday here. He has a major gig in Los Angeles the week after that."

"SRK and gang are expected to attend,” added the insider.

Confirming Akon's birthday bash in India, Sujit Jain, MD-Netsurf Entertainment (concert organisers) said, "After his private event last year, Akon wanted to give the general public, along with the B-Town fraternity, an opportunity to share in his (birthday) celebration and party and dance the night away.

“The team is making full arrangements to ensure it is a success since there are many firsts to his visit in India this time around."

You never know, this event might turn out to be a promotional campaign for SRK's 'Ra.One', one of the most expensive films of the industry.
