I hate being treated as the God of Box Office—Ranveer

It seems like greenhorn Ranveer Singh, whose debut film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ left the cash registers ringing at the box office, is trying to put his best foot forward at the early phase of his career.

Apparently, while addressing the gathering at the star studded FCCI Frames Conclave, held in Mumbai, Ranveer tried to flaunt his modesty by articulating that he wished to be known as an actor, and not as a divine being.

At the FICCI Frames 2011 session on 'Successful Film Content - Rise of Debutants,' Ranveer said, "I hate this attitude of the industry that puts a male star into the centre of everything, and starts treating me as the God of Box Office and not as an actor. I am an actor. I want to read a role and get excited about how will I do it and the possibilities it offers to me as an actor."

Among others, who appeared at the event include debutant directors such Kiran Rao, Abhishek Sharma, Habib Faisal, Vikramaditya Motwane, Maneesh Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha.

Eminent filmmaker Karan Johar was the representative of the session.
