'Patiala House' wipes out at the box-office

Though 'Patiala House' showcased Akshay Kumar in serious genre, the film failed to mark an imprint at the box-office.
It seems audience want more of Akki's excellent comedy genres.
As per the details revealed by Box-Office India, the gross collection of 'Patiala House' resulted to Rs 23 to 25 crore nett in its first opening weekend. With such lower response from the viewers, the film is expected to garner nearly 30 crore as its gross collection.
Surprisingly, the film even had an average performance overseas, and gleaned $1.40 million only in its opening weekend.
Delineating the performance of 'Patiala House' overseas, the figures in UK was £260,000, while in North America and UAE, it was $350,000 and $275,000, respectively.
Reviving the opening weekend facts of 'Patiala House' in India, the Friday collection amounted to 4.15 crore nett, while on Saturday, besides some increment, it was 5.10-5.30 crore nett, and Sunday, again saw a decline and it resulted to be 6.10-6.30 crore nett.
Set on a budget of 28-30 crore, this Hindi film drama-sports genre, besides featuring Akshay Kumar, stars Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Armaan Kirmani and Hard Kaur.
With '7 Khoon Maaf' releasing today, nothing much can be expected from the film.
