<strong>Mumbai, Aug 12 :</strong>Sony Entertainment today announced the CID Gallantry Awards, an initiative to encourage and honour acts of bravery in the society. It is an extension of the most popular and long running show CID. The awards will felicitate inspiring achievers; provide a platform to encourage the new generation to be courageous and brave.

On this occasion the COO of Sony Entertainment Television, stated that, “When these people came to me with this award idea it took me 5 minutes to decide on it. Audience all over have loved this show and made it popular. The main agenda of doing this award is to give back to the society.”

“Another factor is to take the CID team and the show to the next level. Many brave deeds go unnoticed and this award will become a platform for them. There is a panel of Jury who will decide the winner and the runner up for the award. The winner will be given Rs. 1 lakh while the runner up will receive Rs. 50, 000,” he adds further.

The jury panel comprises of personalities such as, Gerson Da Cunha who is an actor, social worker and an author. Aushtosh, Managing Editor of IBN 7. Shanta Gokhale, writer, translator, cultural critic and theatre historian. Lastly Kavita Karkare the wife of 26/11 martyr Hemant Karkare.

There will be a producer of steps involved and the jury will select the people from all over India. For the participating one has to keep tab on the show as during the ads break in CID, the information will be provided.
