Even if he is a son of 80’s superstar Vinod Khanna, he has struggled a lot to mark his own name in the film industry. Akshay Khanna is known to be very choosy about films that he take. Then what is so special about 'Short Kut - The Con Is On'?
When asked about the same, Akshay said, “It's always the script that has drawn me towards it. You just can't have a great script but a lousy director or is being produced by someone who is not capable of releasing the film.
"These are also important issues. But, as I told earlier, for me, it's the script that comes first, then the role, followed by many other factors. As far as Short Kut is concerned, it was definitely the script, followed by my role.
"Also, one of the main reasons for me to say yes to this film was the fact that it was being written by Anees Bazmee and Neeraj Vora, two of the best writers in the industry.”
The film 'Short Kut - The Con Is On' is a story of two characters. In the movie they are in a dilemma which route to choose, one of which is a shortcut - the easy way, the other route requires effort and struggle.
Arshad Warsi is playing the role of Raju who is a struggling actor and who wants to become a star. Akshay is playing the role of Shekhar, a struggling writer-director, who has been an assistant director for years and hopes to make it big one day.
Amrita Arora has been paired opposite Akshay in this flick.
Despite the fact that many renowned actors of Bollywood sport different roles in this movie, it will depend upon the audience to make it a hit.
This movie is very important for Akshay’s career in the industry.
Apart from this movie, he is doing Priyadarshan’s untitled movie with Ajay Devgan and also Anees Bazmee's “No Problems”.
