A.R. Rahman, the musical sensation of India who won all the glory this year by winning two Oscars, a Golden Globe and a Bafta award for his music in “Slumdog Millionaire kicked off a storm here in Kerela by launching the ‘Jai Ho’ musical extravaganza.

The concert was held at the Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode and was the first one in the series of 40 shows to be held worldwide over the next five years by the musical sensation. The concert received an overwhelming response with fans hopping in the stadium not only from India but the world over.

Over 40,000 music lovers were enthralled by the live performance of their idol in a one of its kind musical concert in Kerala. The huge response by the audience left even the maestro saying that he would love to come back to perform in Kerala.

The concert was also lighted with the presence of singers like, Hariharan, Benny Dayal, Chitra, Javed Ali and others who sang over 30 songs in Tamil, Malyalam and Hindi.

The funds raised by all the concerts would be forwarded for the welfare of HIV+ children.
