A boy dies imitating superhero stunt

A warning bell for parents if your kids loves watching stunt series or violent shows! Another shocking incidence has taken place in Kolkatta where a 12 years old boy died while trying to imitate his favorite action hero.

Bishal Hela was a class VII student and was living with his grandmother at staff quarters of Howara General Hospital in Kolkatta. He was alone at home when accident took place and was watching his favorite action serial.

He decided to try out a stunt he had just seen on television. He took one wire, tied it to the ceiling and made one loop to hold and swing.

According to the evidences and conclusions it appears that, while swing, he might have tied the wire around his neck and jumped. When his grandmother returned home around 8:00 p.m. she found Bishal lying unconscious in the room with serious neck injuries.

Police said, the boy was immediately rushed to the Howrah District General Hospital where he died on Saturday evening.

Child psychologists warn that parents should not allow their children to watch action or stunt series. A psychologist from Kolkatta said, “If parents have the habit of watching such shows, children are bound to get interested. Kids are curious. When alone at home, they may try to imitate the stars. This is when accidents occur.”

Bishal was very fond of watching wrestling matches and superhero serials, said his grandmother. And this is not the first time that children imitate their favourite action heroes. Jumping from terrace or setting up fire or even beating younger sister after watching stunt shows on TV are the few cases.
