They are coming up with some unique ideas to give their movies the attention they deserve.
That’s exactly what Sajid Khan is doing, taking an unusual route to ramp up the marketing campaign for his next!!
Live relay of mahurat
The director wants to live-stream the mahurat of “Himmatwala” a remake of the 80’s hit produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani (Puja Entertainment India Ltd) on YouTube.
"Vashu Bhagnani and Siddharth Roy Kapur (of UTV) were bowled over when Sajid explained the idea to them. He felt that this would give Himmatwala further fillip right from the beginning itself en route to the film's 29th March release. The entire plan has been formulated backwards and the 'muhurat' to be hosted LIVE is another step taken forward", informs an insider.
Sajid Khan is all set to webcast the first scene of the film starring Ajay Devgn and Southern siren Tamannah at Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad on 22 August at 1pm.
The mahurat shot hosted by Sajid will be between Ajay Devgan and Zarina Wahab. It will on lines of what Sajid does for his movies wherein he makes documentaries of the behind the scenes action to interact with the audience.
Confirming the buzz, Sajid Khan says, “Yes, this is a first ever in the history of Indian cinema when a mahurat will be covered live online. Since I make my films purely for the audience, I wanted them to be a part of it right from the very first shot, so we came up with this idea of livestreaming the mahurat on YouTube.”
The director also promises to retain the first sequence which the audience will see live in the movie no matter how it is captured. He has also bought the rights to two chartbuster from the original film from Sa Re Ga Ma, “Naino Mein Sapna” and “Taki Re Taki”.
Sajid stated, “I am extremely superstitious so I will just take the mahurat shot even if there’s any technical flaw.”
Will Ajay and Tamannah match the original gyrating dance moves of Jeetendra-Sridevi in the remake?? Let’s wait and watch!!
