"We are doing an item song, titled, Halkat Jawani. It is a wonderful song and would be filmed on Kareena. I am sure people will like the song,", confirmed Madhur Bhandarkar who joined Kareena in unveiling of her grandfather Raj Kapoor's brass statue at the UTV Stars-promoted Walk of the Stars in Mumbai.
The actress revealed that she was ecstatic and "short of words" for the honour. "What more could I ask for? My father and my grandfather have made me who I am. Which girl has got this opportunity, guys?"
The brass statue of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor sitting on a bench was installed at the Bandra Bandstand promenade on March 28 to commemorate their contribution to Hindi cinema.
Tidbits about 'Heroine
Bhandarkar also informed that the film featuring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in the lead, is finished with 40 percent of the shooting while the rest of it will take place in April. The film is scheduled to release this September.
Like Bhandarkar’s earlier films ‘Page 3’ and ‘Fashion’, ‘Heroine’ also throws light on real life societal hypocrisies. The film has a contemporary film industry background and it revolves around the life of an actress Mahi Arora played by Kareena Kapoor.
At the event Bhandarkar also squashed the long time rumors that his film is inspired from the life history of onetime successful Bollywood diva Manisha Koirala.
Bhandar maintained in his statement, “This film is not based on Manisha Koirala. It is absolutely wrong. I have created a character called Mahi Arora who is today's girl. The film is all about how she witnesses the ups and downs in her life"
