The new venture
Expectations are running high that the duo will once again set the silver screen on fire.

Gupta boasted that 'Ghanchakkar’ is one of his best projects till date. Vidya and Hasmi were selected for the roles after due consideration.

He stated, “As a director, you always visualize certain actors for the roles and if you are not required to compromise on the casting; you have won half the battle.

"This is the first time I am going to be working with Emraan, who, I think, will do complete justice to the role... and this is the first time the audiences will see him essay a role of an eccentric man.”

Gupta added, "Having worked with Vidya before, she was definitely my first choice for the role. It'll be a delight to get her to work in an entirely new genre in a totally different avatar and in a quirky, mad, out-of-the-box role. The two leads and the crackling chemistry between them will take the viewers on a laughter ride.”

Gupta goes gaga over Emraan-Vidya
'Ghanchakkar' unravels the tale of an ex-conman Sanju (Emraan) who is pretty self-satisfied with his lot and has called it quits. The problem is his over ambitious wife, Vidya who has her own take of the world.

As the story unfolds, Hashmi gets caught in a 'chakkar' with tow thugs - one with a bad ailment and other with terrible sense of humour. All this add an element of confusion, chaos and madness to the prevailing situation.

According to Vidya, when one has worked with an actor before, there is a definite amount of comfort that is brought to the table. Emraan is a versatile actor and together they would endeavor to create magic on screen.

"As an actor, all you want to do is reach out to the audiences with different yet entertaining roles. Having said that, the story, producer, the director, the co-actors play an extremely critical role while selecting a film. With 'Ghanchakkar', it all just fell in place," said Vidya.

Emraan acknowledged that he jumped on board when Rajkumar offered him Sanju's role. It's an intriguing story with a potpourri of all the essential components which would enable the filmmakers to connect with the audiences.
