Veena goes missing: A publicity gimmick?

After the FHM nude photoshoot controversy, Pakistani model-actress Veena Malik has managed to grab the headlines again.

Reportedly, Veena’s manager Pratik Mehta claims that the actress is missing since morning of December 16, 2011.

Veena was last seen at the shoot of a Bollywood film ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’ at Film City in Goregaon of northwest Mumbai.

Veena left the venue after the shooting, and has not been traced since then. Unfortunately, her mobile phone number is also not reachable.

Hemant Madhukar, the film’s director, informed, “Veena left after the pack-up yesterday (Friday) morning.

“In the afternoon, I received an SMS from her where she apologised for not being able to concentrate on the shooting, stating that she was disturbed.

"I called her immediately, but her number was not reachable. I have not been able to get in touch with her since.”

Hemant and Veena’s manager have approached the police to file a missing report.

Veena received death threats
Veena Malik has been hogging the limelight ever since FHM magazine published her completely naked photo.

Veena claimed that she only agreed for a topless photoshoot, and that her photo on the cover page of the magazine was morphed.

Following the scandal, Veena was accused of defaming her country. Even her father disowned her.

In addition, Veena received death threats for sporting ‘ISI’ mark on her arm.

Is Veena really missing?
Contemplating the complete scenario, it won’t be wrong to guess that this missing news might also be a publicity stunt.

Reacting on Veena’s missing news, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt cited TOI, “We are living in dangerous times.

“Veena has already earned the stigma of abusing the media to serve her personal interests and any information regarding her is now being met with cynicism.

“People today fear to give her the benefit of doubt since they believe she has engineered a lot to fit things into her landscape of profit.”

“If she is doing this to keep the excitement alive about her, this will turn into a farce. But it would indeed be sad if nobody responds to her even if her missing tale is true. Veena's tale could become a wolf wolf story. It will be tragic if people take her story with a pinch of salt even if she were in some kind of serious trouble,” Bhatt added.

Let’s see what Veena’s best buddy Ashmit Patel has to say on this.
