A source close to the unit admitted that Akshay and John are portraying the characters of male strippers in 'Desi Boyz' and that could be the reason Censor board decided to give it an ‘A’ certificate.

“The makers of 'Desi Boyz' were expecting a U/A certificate since it's a big-budget film and with Akshay and John in the cast they were largely targeting the family audience and youth as well. Unfortunately for them, the film has been given an Adult certification," said the source.

Meanwhile, the makers of 'The Dirty Picture', which is said to be inspired from the life of late sex siren Silk Smitha, were surprised when the film passed without any cuts.

Vidya, who is busy promoting her upcoming film these days, stated at a recent press conference that the film‘s title is ‘dirty’ but the flick isn’t dirty at all.

The versatile actress also mentioned that she was mentally prepared for her role and chose to do this movie as she wanted to experiment with different roles.

Talking about her bold character in film, Vidya said, “The heroine's name is Silk, but it is not based on Silk Smith’s life. The Dirty Picture is about a dancing star from 1980s. The writer thought to keep the name Silk just because in 80s it was a famous name in dancing. He thought by using the name we will be transferred to the period immediately."

Tusshar’s character has many shades
Meanwhile, Tusshar Kapoor, who was also present at the media interaction, said that this is one of the most challenging roles ever played by him.

“The Dirty Picture is a three hero and one heroine film but Silk (heroine) is the main character and the story revolves around her character but we all have very important roles in the film,” stated the actor.
