Announcing details of the much anticipated match, Salman stated, "We have great memories of Sharjah stadium and considering it's a historic venue we thought this could be the best place to host our matches."

Meanwhile, other venues for the matches include Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Kochi.

Besides Mumbai Heroes, Chennai Rhinos, Karnataka Bulldozers, and Telugu Warriors, there would be two more new teams, Kerala Strikers and Bengali Tigers who would participate in the event.

While Kerela Strikers is co-owned by Mohanlal, ace director Priyadarshan and his wife Lizzy, Bengali tigers is owned by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi.

Salman refuses to play
Salman has announced that he wouldn’t be playing the celebrity cricket after having done a nerve disorder surgery earlier this year; however the actor will be lending his full support to the team.

His team Mumbai heroes had lost badly during the last match, but the actor is optimistic that his team would perform well the next time.

“As stars, we only like to bowl and bat. Fielding and taking catches were not important in our eye, that’s where we went wrong. But we will be back with a strong fielding attack,” further added the actor.

Salman and Katrina bond over gold coins
Salman, who is known for his big heart recently gifted gold coins to the crew of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ following Katrina’s footsteps. It’s heard that Katrina decided to splurge for the ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ crew members since they were working on the film even during Diwali.

Interestingly, after seeing Kat’s gesture, even Salman made up his mind to gift them.

“The crew was shooting in Turkey around Diwali. Katrina wanted to do something special for her staff and the crew. The crew was away from home shooting during the festival, instead of celebrating it with their respective families. She decided to gift them gold coins."

“When Salman found out about Katrina`s generous gesture, he also got inspired and decided to gift them gold coins. Everyone in the unit from the direction and the production team and the spot boys got two gold coins," stated a source.
