The 'Desi Boyz' actress Deepika Padukone has been approached by the Sports Development Corporation (SDC) for a motivational campaign to promote London Olympics to be held next year.
Confirming the news, the SDC official spokesperson stated that they have approached the actress because of her sporting background.
“When we are looking for a celebrity to promote sports, we need people to believe that if this person can achieve so much at such a young age, so can we. In the case of Deepika, she is a true young achiever. She has achieved so much at such a young age," added SDC spokesperson.
Talking about the new promotional campaign, Deepika said, “My first love continues to be sports and I would love to do any campaign that encourages people to take up sports in our country.”
Deepika and Chitrangada share bad vibe
Recently while shooting for the 'Desi Boyz', Deepika and Chitrangada Singh were not cordial. They both were avoiding each other on the sets.
A source revealed that even the actors John Abraham and Akshay Kumar tried their best to sort out this issue.
“On Tuesday, the entire cast of the film was shooting the 'making of the film' section at Filmistan Studios, Goregaon. Chitrangda and Deepika were seen avoiding each other like plague. Tired of this tension, Akshay and John, who have tried several times to get them talking, decided to give it a final shot,” said the source.
