Starting from Nov. 1, the concerts would be staged by Oscar-winning composer A.R Rahman along with Ranbir, Nargis, singer Mohit Chauhan, and director Imtiaz Ali in Mumbai, London, Dubai, and Kashmir.
“We’re planning a concert for peace in Kashmir too, either before or after the film’s release on November 11. The logistics are being worked out, permission has been applied for and we’re hopeful,” informed the actor.
For the record, some parts of ‘Rockstar’ were filmed in the Valley, and Ranbir confessed he was apprehensive before the shoot, given the exaggerated media attention.
“But the people were so welcoming, the food, culture and place is so amazing that I finally understood why my grandfather (Shammi Kapoor, who was his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s younger brother) had loved Kashmir so much,” he said.
Interestingly, this will be Ranbir’s first ever stage performance and so will be for the acclaimed music director who would perform live in a concert for any film.
I have been through several heart breaks -- Ranbir
Ask him who he is dating now, and contrary to his casanova image, the ‘Saawariya’ actor says he is single and had had several heart breaks so far.
Ranbir, who was in a committed relationship with Deepika Padukone sometime back, says, "Mera dil bahut baar tuta hai(I have been through several heartbreaks)."
About his role in the film, Ranbir said, "I play a jat boy from Delhi. He comes from a different strata of society. He wants to become a rockstar."
However, the actor thinks that he is not a rockstar in real life."I don't think I am a rockstar. I feel a true rockstar is not aware that he is a rockstar," he said.
For Ranbir, Rockstar was the role of a lifetime. “Rockstar is by far the most challenging role I have done so far. I feel I have matured a little bit. The character seems to have lingered somewhere in me. I like to do my job to the best of my abilities.
“Working with Imtiaz was a great learning experience. He is an intelligent and painstaking director. I really enjoyed doing this character and wanted the shoot to go on and on… I miss the Rockstar shoot.”
