'Arundhati' which was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna emerged a blockbuster. It was a fantasy genre film that was appreciated for its art direction, cinematography and the performances of Anushka Shetty and Sonu Sood.

It’s learnt that the film production company, Gemini film Circuit, has bought the remake rights of the Telugu film and is keen to produce the film.

Talks are going on in film circles that either Kareena or Katrina would be chosen to portray the title character Arundhati. However sources close to the film have revealed that chances are more for Katrina to get the lead role.

The film which is considered to be the best made South Indian flick for its exemplary movie making techniques was dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Oriya.
