Rumour has it that Bebo has turned down the offer to star in the sequel of the movie, which had marked the debut of Tusshar Kapoor.
Although in the forthcoming project, Tusshar would be playing a double role, Kareena wouldn’t be seen edging the role of his love interest.
Kareena opts out of the project
While the rest of the cast and crew of the 2001’s film remaining unchanged, with director Satish Kaushik, producer Vashu Bhagnani and Tusshar playing the lead role, the only significant difference would be Kareena’s absence from the project.
Although Bebo is known to be quite close to Tusshar and his sister Ekta Kapoor, the ravishing actress supposedly walked out of the project citing date issues.
However, industry insiders reiterate that the reason for Kareena’s exit is the fact that she has joined the top league of actresses and so she doesn’t need to undertake the project.
“Actually there was no question of Kareena being part of this project. She has moved way ahead of the MKKH league,” a close source added.
Satish Kaushik denies approaching Kareena
While speculations are rife that Kareena has opted out of MKKH 2, director Satish Kaushik has denied the fact that the ‘Jab We Meet’ star was even approached for doing the role.
“It is not a single heroine film. I have great memories of working with Kareena in Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. But I do have another script especially for her. She's super talented and I am proud of her,” the director said.
While speaking about the movie, Kaushik added, “Tusshar plays a double role. He plays a Sardarji in one of his avatars. It is a very funny script and my first full fledged comedy.”
