According to box-office reports, Salman’s ‘Bodyguard’ has managed to gross a whopping sum of 85 crore plus in just five days, thereby breaking all the previous blockbusters’ records.
This Salman-Kareena starrer has even set new records at the overseas box-office. It has surpassed Shahrukh’s ‘My Name Is Khan’s overseas collections also.
Trade Analysts are speculating that the movie may turn out to be the biggest grosser of 2011.
New releases suffer, thanks to Salman’s ‘Bodyguard’
Meanwhile, the other new releases namely ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’, ‘Mummy Punjabi’, ‘Bol’ and ‘Bas Ek Tamana’, which had hit the screens in the same week as of Salman’s Bodyguard, suffer heavy loses as result of the clash with the superstar.
While Salman’s venture is minting crores, the other releases have to be content with lakhs.
Trade experts are of the opinion that even without the clash with ‘Bodyguard’, the other four new releases would have run into losses because of their unappealing content.
Salman wishes good for Shahrukh’s ‘Ra.One’
Salman and Shahrukh’s enmity is known to all. However, this year, it seems the bitterness between the two is lessening.
Well, when Salman had left for U.S. for surgery, Shahrukh was quoted saying that he wishes the former to get well soon and in the actor’s absence, he along with the industry would be taking care of ‘Bodyguard’.
And now Salman is heard saying that he wishes his archrival SRK’s upcoming superhero flick ‘Ra.One’ to do better than his ‘Bodyguard’.
“….People keep asking me about Shah Rukh and all I can say is that I pray that Ra.One is an even bigger hit than my film," Salman told the reporters.
