Aamir-Sharman: The new Munnabhai-Circuit jodi?

After success of ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and its sequel, the makers of the Munnabhai franchise are mulling making its threquel with a fresh Munnabhai-Circuit jodi.

Grapevine has it that the actors who are being considered for the new Munnabhai-Circuit jodi are Aamir Khan and Sharman Joshi, whose pairing has already been applauded in ‘3 Idiots’.

Sources reveal that it was during the making of ‘3 Idiots’ that filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra were struck with idea of replacing Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, the original Munnabhai-Circuit jodi, with Aamir and Sharman respectively in ‘Munnabhai Chale Amerika’.

A source close to the Munnabhai franchise told Mid Day, "The idea of casting Aamir and Sharman came up during the shoot of 3 Idiots. Hirani felt that a new pair would bring in a fresh breath of air into the film. Aamir and Sharman have amazing comic timing and also great chemistry onscreen. You can see that even in their first film together, Rang De Basanti.”

Sanjay has been informed about his replacement
Meanwhile, an insider disclosed that Sanjay Dutt, who had played the character of Munnabhai in the first two parts of the franchise, has been informed about his replacement.

Sanjay and Arshad had even started shooting for the promos of ‘Munnabhai Chale Amerika’, but then because of the improper script the shooting was shelved.

"A few months ago, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani had a closed door meeting with Sanju, where they told him that they would not be going ahead with him in the Munnabhai sequel. This definitely upset Sanju," stated the insider.

Aamir game to play Munnabhai
Gossipmongers have suggested that the B-town Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has already been approached for the third installment of Munnabhai series.

The actor is quite elated to play Munnabhai, but he will be agreeing to do the film only after hearing the script.

A source said, “When he (Rajkumar Hirani) shared the idea with Aamir, he loved it. He told Rajkumar that he would be game for it if the script was interesting."
