Shocked and saddened by the blasts in Mumbai—Aishwarya

Following the bomb blasts that took place late Wednesday evening in Mumbai, the to-be mom and Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan refused to receive the French honor.

Articulating her grief over the mishap, Ash who at the time of the inhuman act, was in Delhi to receive the French honor of the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier Dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres), stated that the incident has saddened her and her family.

“We’re obviously very shocked and saddened by the blasts in Mumbai. This isn’t the moment of celebration and honour and, thus, my family and I thought it would be correct to request the French Ambassador to postpone this event. We would not be going a long with the celebration as originally planned,” Ash told the TOI.

Reportedly, the actress requested the French ambassador Jerome Bonnafont to postpone the award ceremony that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, the same day when the blasts took place, at the last minute.
