People call me ‘Chudail’ on road, says Vir Das

Indian actor-comedian Vir Das has finally moved away from his safe zone of delivering gag lines and has done an item number titled ‘Jaa chudail’ for Aamir’s ‘Delhi Belly’.

The actor, who will be sharing frame with Imran in ‘Delhi Belly’, wore platform heels for his dance number.

Speaking about the song, Vir Das stated that people have already started teasing him by calling him a ‘chudail’ after he had done the item number.

“I'm an item girl now. I didn't really realize till now the power Hindi film songs have and I never understood what a solo song can do for you. Now I know. I heard people calling me Chudail on the road. I was disturbed and flattered at the same time," stated the actress.

'Jaa chudail’ song is choreographed by Farah Khan
The ‘Jaa chudail’ song, which is choreographed by Farah Khan, will see Vir grooving to dance moves inspired by the 80’s actor Mithun Chakraborty and the Hollywood singer Elvis Presley.

Talking about his dance moves for the song, Vir stated that he watched the videos of Elvis and Mithun to get his dancing style perfectly.

“I saw more Elvis videos than Mithun videos because I have grown up watching Mithun; so I know those moves. It was a good experience but the most difficult part was that I had to dance in five-and-a-half inch platform heels, which was nothing less than a nightmare.

“The outfit was made of pure latex , so there was no ventilation. But overall I had fun. Farah is amazing to work with,” said Vir.

Humor in ‘Delhi Belly’ is different, says Imran
‘Delhi Belly’ is garnering lot of attention for its bold content, and speaking about the interesting element about his much hyped film, Imran stated that the humor in the movie is quite different and hasn’t been seen before in Bollywood.

“The humour in Delhi Belly is of a kind we haven’t seen before in India. Its tone is so casual and irreverent that every line is a throwaway. People might just walk out of the hall saying where’s the joke and where’s the acting. It’s that casual. We hope people catch it, as the film makes no concession for the audience,” said Imran.
