Aditya Chopra initially wanted to rope in Tom Cruise for the role of Raj Malhotra in 'Dilwale...

As per the tabloids, after being diagnosed for liver and lung ailments in Singapore, the legendary superstar is now on the mend, and is to be discharged from the hospital shortly.
However, Rajini will not be returning to India almost immediately after getting discharged, as the veteran actor has to undergo a few more health check-ups in the Singapore hospital for some more days.
But once when all the health checks are over, the South demi god will be flying down to his homeland in no time.
It’s learnt that the legend’s family members have arranged a posh flat for his stay in Singapore post release from the hospital.
Rajini keeping a close eye on development of ‘Rana’
The maker of the Rajini-starrer imminent flick ‘Rana’, recently while addressing the press stated that the hero of his film, though hospitalized, kept a track of the film’s progress.
‘Rana’ director K.S. Ravikumar also revealed that Rajinikanth wishes to do all the stunts in his forthcoming film by himself.
“Rajni sir is keen to perform all the stunts himself. As far as I know, he doesn’t like the idea of using a body double to do his action sequences. You know, he is keeping a close eye on Rana’s development,” said K.S. Ravikumar.
Talking about the resumption of the film, the moviemaker informed, “We were planning to resume towards the end of June, but we’ve pushed it back by a few months. Rajni sir is fine, but his health is of paramount importance.”
Sneak peek into ‘Rana’
Produced by Ocher Picture Productions and Eros International, and helmed by K.S. Ravikumar, ‘Rana’ features Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood.
The making of the film kick-started on April 29, but unfortunately it had to be shelved for some time as male lead Rajini was hospitalized.
However, now when Rajinkanth is in good health and is apparently going to return to India soon, the film is all set to go on floors again.
