Reportedly, the actress had to taste embarrassment after she could not make round chapattis while shooting for a cooking sequence in Prakash Jha’s upcoming film ‘Aarakshan’, which also stars her ‘Love Aaj Kal’ co-star Saif Ali Khan.

The hottie was even more perturbed when director Prakash Jha refused to substitute the roti with something else, when she told him that she could not make round chapattis.

"Deepika just stood there helplessly looking at camera, at her director behind the camera and her co-star Saif Ali khan who grinned beside her," revealed a source.

Confirming the incidence, Deepika said, "I was so embarrassed, I can totally cook, but roti is a challenge. As with life, the most simplest of things some times get to be a hardest to master.”

The actress did not know that she would have to undertake such a task. When she was given the task, the whole unit waited for her to complete her shoot, but Deepika was left feeling out of place.

Everybody was amused when Deepika struggled to make round rotis, just like a girl who is learning to cook.

“Deepika's rotis also came out in abstract shapes, sizes and maps of unknown countries,” said a source.

Saif and Jha help Deepika make round rotis
The Chotte Nawab found the whole thing to be quite funny and he said that he was reminded of a scene from the yesteryear’s hit movie ‘Kaalia’.

Saif said, "It was interestingly funny, reminded me of the scene in Kaalia where Amitji helps Parveen Babiji to make an egg. Thank god, it wasn't an egg for Deepika."

The actor even lent Deepika a helping hand, but after he failed Prakash Jha himself stepped in and helped the actress master the art of making round chapattis.

"It was nothing major. Deepika was pretty comfortable in the kitchen. I just helped her a little bit," Jha confirmed.

The much-hyped movie ‘Aarakshan’ is shot with Bihar in the backdrop, and is a caste distinction film. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
