Akon eyes Bollywood?


After wooing the Indian audience with his latest performance in Gurgaon and Bengaluru, the western rapper Akon is gung-ho about working in the country, as he considers it like a second home.


Well, the well-known international R&B artiste, who has sung a song for Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming venture ‘Ra.One’, wants to strengthen his association with the industry.

Reportedly, after celebrating his birthday in his favorite tourist destination, the American singer said that Mumbai was to India, what New York City was for the U.S.

The buzz is that Akon wants to act in Hindi films, “but for now he will be exploring collaborations with AR Rahman, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Rahul Sharma”, informed an industry source.

Comparing India with his native land Africa, the 'Lonely' and 'Smack That' singer said that he loved the culture and energy of the country.

“I may purchase a home in India. I feel connected to the culture here”, said the rapper, who will be seen more in India due to his collaboration with Indian artistes.

Talking about unveiling his clothing brand in India, he said, “I may launch Konvict here along with my mineral water brand, Aliaune”.

Meanwhile, actor Suniel Shetty, who happens to be a close friend of the singer, said that if Akon plans to buy a house in India, he will be more than willing to help the American rapper.

“I have a real estate business, so I’ll help him out, but he hasn’t spoken to me about this yet. We may work together for our charity endeavors. Akon is focused about giving back to society. We’re working out what we can together do for children”, revealed the Indian action hero.

Sonakshi interviews Akon
B-town actress Sonakshi Sinha, who claims to be an ardent Akon fan, recently donned the hat of a host, and in an exclusive show on Planet Bollywood she interviewed the world-famous singing sensation.

“The starlet was very excited to interview the international heartthrob. It came as no surprise that the on screen chemistry between the two was explosive”, revealed Zoom channel.
