Filmmaker Karan Johar was sued in UK court for using a song 'It's Raining Men' from Geri...

According to the latest reports, media professional Savio Rodrigues who had earlier filed a petition to ban the release of ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ claiming that the film had portrayed Goa and women in a bad light, made an appeal on Wednesday during the court hearing asking the movie to be screened before the bench.
Dina Duttani, Fox Star Studios India Private Limited’s spokesperson, who heads the legal and business division, openly challenged that they have no problem in screening the entire movie as ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ has not publicized Goans in a bad light.
“There is nothing in the movie that spells disrespect for the Goans,” said Dina Duttani.
HC watches the promos of 'Dum Maaro Dum'
The makers of ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, who managed to make the required changes in the theatrical trailer as its objectionable content created a lot of ripples earlier, showed the old and the new promos before the divisional bench.
Speaking about the changes made in the promos, Duttnai stated, "The promos always change whenever movie is nearing its release. Now the promos speak of the story line."
Meanwhile, the division bench, which includes Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice S C Dharmadhikar, who took a glance at the promos, has kept the next hearing on Monday, April 18.
FSSIPL filed an affidavit
In an affidavit filed by FSSIPL representative, Dina Duttani stated before the bench that the film’s story focuses on an honest police officer and a drug mafia, and there is nothing that has been shown to malign Goa’s citizens.
“The story is essentially about how a minister in Goa directs an honest police officer to eradicate the drug mafia. There is nothing in the film which could be construed as depicting Goa or the people of Goa in a negative light," further mentioned the affidavit.
