Vivek Oberoi might star as the super-villain opposite Hrithik Roshan in ‘Krrish 3’. Vivek’s career graph hasn’t looked quite bright in recent years. But after being offered with such a significant role, Vivek might find the required pedestal to save his dying career.

‘Krrish’ has been a highly successful sequel to ‘Koi..Mil Gaya’. One of the highest grosser of 2006, the film was appreciated for its action scenes and visual effects.

Being the first of its kind in superhero genre, the film has almost become a trendsetter for future sci-fi films to be produced in Bollywood.

Though not yet confirmed, sources inside the industry believe Vivek might have bagged the role of a super-villain in ‘Krrish 3.’

The source adds, "There have been various rumors floating in the industry about the casting of the film. The fact is that none of them have been signed yet. Talks are still on with a lot of actors as the film is scheduled to go on the floors in October this year."

The original casting of the film is still under lot of speculation. Even Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who was supposed direct the film, has now been replaced. Rakesh Roshan, himself has taken over the helm of direction.

Rakesh Roshan remained unavailable to confirm Vivek’s casting.

The source confirmed,” Rakesh Roshan wanted a strong character to play the negative lead. There were various names being considered including the likes of Shah Rukh Khan. But Vivek Oberoi has bagged the role.”

Vivek’s recent string of flops
Vivek Oberoi had a promising debut in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’. But his recent years in Bollywood are filled with films which are either been rejected by audiences or highly panned by the critics.

Vivek starred in number of multi-starrers like ‘Mission Istanbul’ and ‘Kurbaan’, which bombed at the box office. Even his solo films like ‘Prince’ and ‘Rakht Charitra’ received lukewarm response from the audiences.

Apart from ‘Krrish 3’, he is about to star in Shaad Ali’s next film ‘Bloody Paki,’ which will be produced by Mani Ratnam.
