Title track of 'Challo Dilli' released by Lara

Newly-wed actress Lara Dutta has donned the producer’s hat with ‘Challo Dilli’, and the beautiful diva is quite upbeat about the film, the title track of which was recently launched.

Reportedly, the music of director Shashant Singh’s movie is finally out, with the cast and crew introducing the title track at a music launch event in Mumbai.

The title track has been sung by Raja Hasan and is a peppy track that could be a good listen for travelers. The song is in full sync with the theme of the movie and is enjoyable for all music lovers of all genres.

Producer Krishika Lulla says, "From situational songs to a fun dance number, each song in Chalo Dilli comes with their unique background, variety and versatility. All the songs have a great feel of movement to them keeping with the theme of the movie."

The special item song
The remixed version of the famous Zeenat Aman song ‘Laila O Laila’ in the movie has become the talk of the town.

The dance number features ‘Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo’ girl Yana Gupta, and Lara says that it was her tennis pro husband Mahesh Bhupathi who thought of including the song in the movie.

"We needed a song in the film that had a little bit of masti and was based on a woman. Mahesh loved the film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and my character was Laila in the film. No one except Yana was approached," Lara says.

She adds, "It is not a tribute to Zeenatji but I would say it is a tribute to the iconic song. We have kept Zeenatji in the loop and yes, she has liked the song.”

A brief on the movie
The travelogue movie is the story of a modern and sophisticated lady, played by Lara Dutta and an uneducated truck driver (Vinay Shukla), who are traveling together towards a common destination.

What happens while they are on the journey forms the major chunk of the movie.

Also, tabloid reports claim that there is a DDLJ-inspired train sequence in the comic flick.

"There is one scene in the film where I run to catch the train and Vinay's character Manu...he extends his hand to pull me onto the train. And, of course, we were inspired by DDLJ," says Lara.

Well, let’s hope that the movie, slated to hit theaters on April 29, takes Lara back to her better days in the industry.
