The meritorious personality is well-known for being an excellent Bharatanatyam dancer. Besides, Leela is also acknowledged as a writer, teacher, and choreographer. Taking over as the CBFC Chief will be a new experience for the lady.

Talking about her new experience as the Censor Board Chief, Leela told TOI, "I am overwhelmed by this but I will put my best foot forward."

“My expertise is not in films but I think my role has to do with viewing cinema for its aesthetics and the traditions of our country."

Though no official announcement has been made, it's expected to be done anytime soon.
