Tabloids have revealed that the legendary diva Sridevi has given a green signal for starring in ‘Paa’ fame filmmaker R. Balki’s forthcoming productional venture, to be directed by his wife Gauri Shinde.

Furthermore, Balki is also looking forward to cast the luminary actress with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in an imminent motion picture, to be directed by him.

In a one-to-one with the media, Balki said, "Yes, Sridevi will star in her film. And yes, I'm doing another project with Mr Bachchan. Like Cheeni Kum and Paa it is again an audacious idea that we are both hugely excited about. Will my film too star Sridevi? Why not? But at the moment it's too early to talk about the casting of my film."

Big B and Sridevi’s pairing in Mukul Anand's ‘Khuda Gawah’ had left the cash registers ringing at the box office, in 1992.

It seems that the actress wants to re-emerge on the big screen with a bang, as apparently she is pulling out all the stops to get back her curves.

A source close to the actress said, "Sridevi is very excited about her comeback. She has hit the gym and is regularly going to a nutritionist to get into shape."

In Balki’s forthcoming flick, the evergreen actress will be seen stepping into the boots of a lady, who has no knowledge of English, and fortunately or unfortunately gets hitched to an aristocrat.

The movie lays focus on the consequences of a mismatched marriage and highlights how the female protagonist surmounts the hurdles in her married life.

A source close to Balki said, "Balki and Gauri have worked very hard on this subject for the past few months and are now ready to roll."

The former movie offer
Prior to Balki’s film, there were rumors doing the rounds that Sridevi was offered the role which Hema Malini had played in Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Veer-Zaara.’

But, hubby Boney Kapoor wanted the actress to step back into B-town with his home production.

However, all plans failed and Sridevi neither did ‘Veer-Zaara’ nor was re-launched by Boney’s production house.

Well, with Balki’s forthcoming flick, the diva finally got an opportunity to resurface in the industry.
