Kat to team up with Ranbir in ‘Magadheera’?


The hottest couple of B-town, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who were lately hitting the headlines for their clandestine affair, will be seen flaunting their sizzling chemistry on the big screen soon.


Tabloids revealed that the ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ lovebirds, RK Junior and Katrina Kaif have been approached for playing the lead pair in the remake of the Telugu blockbuster movie ‘Magadheera'.

Apparently, while the ‘Rajneeti’ hero, Ranbir has agreed to sign the dotted line, the ‘Rajneeti’ heroine, Katrina is yet to give a green signal.

As the character which Ranbir will be seen portraying in the ‘Magadheera’ remake, has a body akin to the ‘Ghajini’ star Aamir Khan, Kapoor will be required to tone up his physique, revealed sources.

A source said, "Ranbir has got a detailed brief on how he needs to make his body match the role he will play."

The remake of ‘Magadheera’ will be directed by Rajamouli, whereas Madhu Mantena and Allu Arvind will be producing it.

Ranbir was not the first choice
Grapevine has it that the chocolate boy Ranbir Kapoor was not the first preference for the leading man in ‘Magadheera’ remake.

At the outset, B-town Perfectionist Aamir Khan was offered the role of the male protagonist. Apparently, Aamir didn’t like the original Telugu version of ‘Magadheera’ and he turned down the offer.

Following which the ‘Guzaarish’ star Hrithik Roshan and ‘Mausam’ hero Shahid Kapoor were approached for the lead role.

When even these biggies said no to the filmmaker, then ultimately the role went to Ranbir Kapoor, who was already tied up with the filmmaker’s brand management company.

Directed by S.S. Rajamouli and produced by Allu Aravind, ‘Magadheera’ left cash registers ringing at the box-office in 2009.

The celebrated stars of the South, Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Aggarwal played the lead pair in the Telugu version of ‘Magadheera'.

The story of ‘Magadheera’, revolves around the rebirth of lovers, that is the lead couple Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Aggarwal.
