Special screening of 'Dum Maro Dum' for Dev Anand


According to the latest tabloid reports, the makers of upcoming movie ‘Dum Maro Dum’ have decided to hold a special premiere for veteran actor Dev Anand.


Reportedly, the movie that has been a part of controversies after the release of its first promotional clips, shares its name with the classic hit song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ of the 1971 runaway success ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, and the Sippys, who have produced the movie, do not want to hurt Devji’s sentiments.

"Just to let him know we meant no harm and that we all respect him. When he sees the way the song has been used he would not be offended at all,” a crew member said.

"More than anyone else Rameshji felt we should not hurt Dev saab in any way. We need his good wishes,” a source added.

Controversy surrounding the movie
The movie landed in troubled waters after the Goa government was not impressed by the negative depiction of the state.

It has also been learnt that the tourism department of the state are not too keen on letting the movie be screened as they feel that it will affect Goa tourism.

Gaurish Dhond, president of the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa said that he was, “wondering how the Censors Board people let the film pass without raising an objection to the portions that show Goa in a dark light.”

First look of DMD
The movie that has Abhishek Bachchan, Prateik Babbar and Bipasha Basu in the lead characters, deals with everything related to sex, drugs, crimes, rave parties and all other illegal activities that can be thought of.

Deepika Padukone has also been roped in for a raunchy item number in the movie and has donned a new avatar for the movie. While the Junior Bachchan said that he was excited about the movie and that the promos initiated good response from the Indian audience.

Well, we hope that the movie is able to revive from its troubles and is able to do justice to the legacy of its name.
