Speculations have it that the 'Dabangg' Khan has asked Shirish Kunder to scribble a role for him, even if it's a cameo, in his forthcoming 3D venture, 'Joker', as Salman is currently smitten by the 3D technology.
Interestingly, the first schedule of the fantasy-adventure film 'Joker', featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, and Minissha Lamba, kicked off in Chandigarh on Feb. 14.
An industry insider revealed Mid-Day, “Shirish has already locked in on Akshay for the lead in Joker with Sonakshi Sinha. But when Salman heard Shirish was making a film in 3D, he got excited. He told Shirish to get him into the picture even if it is for just a cameo.”
Shirish scripting a role for Salman
Though Khan has already been roped in as a lead in Shirish's forthcoming venture, 'Kick', he still wants Kunder to script a short role for him in the 3D flick.
Palpably, it's quite difficult to say “no” to one of the Bollywood superstars, so, Shirish is now brushing up his script again and trying out to frame a valuable character in the film for Salman.
Though nothing has been confirmed about portraying a cameo, Shirish confirmed that he's trying to pen down a role for the superstar.
“Salman is fascinated by 3D. Creatively, this technology allows filmmakers to give viewers a more lifelike experience, as if they were actually in the world of the film and can reach out and touch the characters,” Director Shirish Kunder told the tabloid.
“Both Salman and I love 3D. Plus, it discourages piracy, as viewers have to go to theatres to see the film. In Joker, I intend to take the audience to a world they've never seen or experienced before.”
Regarding Salman's cameo in 'Joker', he said, “I would love to include Salman in Joker. But it has to be a role that would do justice to him."
Salman's upcoming projects
Besides being busy with the second installment of his super-duper hit film, 'Dabangg', Salman Khan has three upcoming releases, 'Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai', 'Ready', and 'Bodyguard'.
Ravi Chopra's 'Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai' is a comedy genre film, which features Govinda, Lara Dutta, Tabu, Boman Irani, and Rajpal Yadav along with Salman. The film is all set to hit the theatres on March 4, 2011.
While another comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee, 'Ready', starring Salman and Asin in lead, will be releasing on May 27, 2011.
The 45-year-old actor's romantic-action film, 'Bodyguard', with Kareena Kapoor will be releasing on Aug. 31, 2011.
