Anushka Sharma opted ‘Patiala House’ for Akshay


Her stellar performance in her last stunner ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ has got Anushka Sharma considerable praise from all quarters that the actress is now riding the high wave in the industry.


Incidentally, the starlet who is readying up for her forthcoming release, Nikhil Advani’s ‘Patiala House’, where she plays Akshay’s arm candy, revealed that she signed the film for her role and the lead actor.

Speaking about her decision to accept a sentimental film like ‘Patiala House’, Anushka Sharma stated, “The story primarily, which is a family drama -- something I have never done before. I really like my character in the film. The other reason is Akshay.”

Anushka was scared of Akshay
After having worked hard for the film, Anushka succeeded in making a positive impression on the director and her costar with her ooze of talent.

When the actress was asked about how interesting it was working with Akshay, she revealed that initially she was scared of the actor.

But it was not only Akshay, she even admitted that sharing screen space with senior actor Rishi Kapoor also kept her on edge because of his powerful presence.

“I was petrified initially because of his strong persona. He is man of few words and he looks very intimidating. He is very straight forward and doesn't mince words. But when I met him, I realized he is nothing like I thought he was. I was scared of Akshay too but both of them made me feel very comfortable,” stated the charming actress.

Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab says Punjabis can relate to ‘Patiala House’
It’s learnt that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has convinced Akki to have the premiere of his upcoming film ‘Patiala House’ in Patiala rather than Mumbai as numerous Punjabis would be able relate to the film.

Talking about this, Sukhbir Singh Badal stated, “This movie is about a Punjabi family that is settled abroad. Countless of Punjabis would relate to the theme of this movie. So I had requested him to organise its premiere show at Patiala. I will also be attending.”
