Grapevine has it that the actress, who along with Shahrukh featured in several movies directed by Karan, has been approached by the filmmaker to play a cameo in his upcoming directorial venture.
Talking about her role, Kajol said, “You can’t really call that a role. But let’s see what Karan has in mind. Besides, I don’t think I can do more than that. I have a small baby to take care of.”
The film will be casting fresh faces namely Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra along with the Baadshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan, who has been zeroed in to portray the character of an academy chief.
Where Varun is the son of prominent filmmaker David Dhawan, Alia is the daughter of celebrated writer-director Mahesh Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, is the one who along with Varun had worked with Karan as an assistant director for ‘My Name Is Khan’.
The film is being produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and KJo’s Dharma Productions. The movie will feasibly hit the silver screen later this year.
‘Student Of The Year’ not related to ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’
It’s being hypothesized that KJo’s impending movie ‘Student Of The Year’ is a contemporary remake of his 98s best-seller ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
Rebuffing the tittle-tattles, Karan said, “I’m going back to college but I’m not revisiting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Why would I do that? If there’s anything I’d like to recapture it is that fun time on the sets of my first film with my buddies, Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani (Mukherji).”
“It’s definitely not High School Musical, that’s pure conjecture,” added Johar.
Karan hopes that the magic which Shahrukh and Kajol had created in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, finds its way in ‘Student Of The Year’ as well.
