Interestingly, Karan wanted Ajay as a guest on KWK even for the previous two installments, however, the introvert actor never agreed to appear as he believes that the chat show turns unnecessarily controversial at times.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that it took lot of pleading on Karan’s part before Ajay finally agreed. The 41-year-old actor had also explicitly told Karan that he would not be talking about any controversial subject on the show.
Last year, KWK had generated lots of controversy when actresses Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor had trashed their ex Ranbir Kapoor on the show.
What Karan promised to get Ajay on the couch
When contacted, Karan confirmed that he has finally managed to get Ajay on his famous couch, but denied that it took lots of effort on his part before Ajay agreed to come.
Though, Karan did admit that Ajay had some reservations as a media shy actor does not like gossips or controversies, so he promised Ajay that things will be “fun and comfortable and not gossipy.”
KJo added that he was desperate to get Ajay on the show as he believes, Ajay “has emerged as the biggest survivor with a tremendous career graph in the last 20 years,” and also wanted to know the real Ajay.
Karan revealed that he even wanted Kajol to appear besides Ajay but she excused herself by saying that she needs to spend time with her newborn son.
Ajay snubs award functions
This year, Ajay not just joined the list of stars, who have appeared on Karan’s show, but also stars (like Kareena Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi), who are busy snubbing awards ceremonies.
Ajay said in an interview that talent is not the qualification to get awards these days, actors just need to show up at the function to get it.
However, he still believes that not all award ceremonies are fixed.
