Deepika and I were never friends--Sonam

Bollywood starlets Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone may have bonded well on ‘Koffee With Karan,’ but that doesn't means the two are friends. Recently, in an interview Sonam clarified that she’s not friends with Deepika and their chemistry was indeed surprising.

“Deepika and I were never friends,” revealed Sonam, who met Deepika last year while shooting for KJo's chat show.

She added, “It was just instant chemistry on the show. We have not kept in touch since then. Right now, I am in Chandigarh shooting for Mausam, and god only knows where she is.”

Interestingly, both the actresses, who were pitched as arch-rivals for being actor Ranbir Kapoor's lady love at the start of their career, had got along like house on fire on the show.

They created uproar in the industry when they made nasty comments on their former beau Ranbir. Their friendly behavior on the show had even sparked speculations that both actresses have buried the past.

Why Sonam, Deepika cannot be friends
Veteran actor Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam debuted in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ opposite actor Ranbir Kapoor in 2007.

Deepika debuted opposite Shahrukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ in the same year as well.

However, Sonam tolerated two back-to-back blows that year, one on professional front and second one in her personal life. Her debut film failed miserably on box office and around the same time her alleged beau Ranbir too dumped her for Deepika.

On the other hand, Deepika’s career jet-started as OSO was a super hit and she even managed to have Ranbir on his side while filming for her second film ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno.’

As per tabloids, this was enough to make to actresses, who had not even met each other at that time, rivals.

Dancing in wedding for money, never!
Sonam, who has come a long way since her ‘Saawariya’ debacle, interestingly, has entered Bollywood with her list of “things she would never be doing.”

As per the actress, though, she does not pass judgment on other people’s decision but no one will ever see her dancing on someone’s wedding for money.
