Shahrukh Khan turning villain for ‘Krrish 2’?

According to the latest tabloids, superstar Shahrukh Khan has been approached by filmmaker Rakesh Roshan to play the role of villain in his upcoming installment of 2006 blockbuster film ‘Krrish,’ starring his son Hrithik Roshan as superhero.

"Shah Rukh and Hrithik are the best of pals in the industry today. It was but natural for Rakesh to etch a role in his son's flick for his buddy as well. SRK's character in the film will have shades of gray to it,” revealed an insider familiar with the matter.

As per sources, this on-screen collaboration was expected, considering that Shahrukh and Hrithik have become close friends with each other in the past few months.

Interestingly, when Hrithik debuted in Bollywood, he was pitched as SRK’s contender in the industry.

Shahrukh’s only condition
Apparently, the moment Roshans were hit with the idea of having SRK in sequel of ‘Krrish,’ they asked the actor if he would like to be part of the film.

Interestingly, sources are claiming that SRK has agreed but only on the condition that ‘Krrish 2’ will be releasing after his home production ‘Ra.One,’ which will be releasing near Diwali in 2011.

Rakesh Roshan had previously worked with SRK in films like ‘King Uncle,’ ‘Koyla’ and 'Karan Arjun,' while Hrithik had appeared as his younger brother in Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.’

No official confirmation as of now
Now, SRK to turn into villain in ‘Krrish 2,’ is not the only rumor floating around in the tabloids circuits; reports are also rife that Deepika Padukone has been finalized as the leading lady for the sequel.

However, when Rakesh Roshan was contacted, he refused to comment and said, "We have not yet finalized the cast for Krrish 2. We are still working on the script after which I will begin casting. Presently I am out of the country."

Industry insiders are also claiming that after seeing Hrithik’s career graph go down with films like ‘Kites’ and ‘Guzaarish,’ Sr. Roshan has taken it upon himself to make his son star again.

After all, Hrithik had experienced phenomenal success due to his daddy's previous two installments, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Krrish.’
