Being the biggest star of the millennium, every move that Big B has ever made has been closely monitored and reported relentlessly by the media.

During 70s it was the media which celebrated Amitabh Bachchan as the next superstar after Rajesh Khanna.

Even in his second innings in Bollywood along with his ‘KBC’ stint, media has often worked in favor of Amitabh Bachchan and has been highly responsible in canvassing his image as the legendary Big B.

Strenuous relation between media and Big B
During 70s, cine magazines reported many gossips about Big B and Zeenat Aman which made the headlines.

This did not go down too well with Big B. According to rumor,s he was instrumental in putting a ban on the magazine with help of the Gandhi family, with whom he had very close relations.

In turn media too banned Big B. Big B continued to boycott the media and such love-hate relation between the two lasted for about 10 years.

But the accident of Big B during the shooting of 'Coolie' brought the media and Big B together. Media had been very supportive and inspirational during the period. Big B broke his silence with the media and thus resurrected their relation.

But still there have been incidents where media has often complained of Big B personally attacking them through his blogs.

Big B jibes at the media
In one of the recent episodes of ‘Koffee with Karan’, Big B has spoken at length about his relation with media. Trying to be amusing he has even called Barkha Dutt and Vir Sanghvi as the most over exposed couple of the year.

When asked about the criticism he faced by media, he narrated an incident .

He said, “Devyani Chaubal saw 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar' and wrote 'his sun is setting, he's over' even Pritish Nandy wrote an article on me and titled it 'Finished'. That article really hurt me. Once, when I met Pritish, I had that article with me. He asked me why I was carrying it around. I said, 'This is my inspiration to prove you wrong.’”
