Anil could not be reached for comment, but when Anupam was contacted, he confirmed that they have indeed buried the hatchet.

"Life is about moving on and growing up as a person. To me the moments we shared as friends are more important than petty fights,” said Anupam, who attended Anil’s birthday party with wife Kirron and son Sikander.

When asked how both of them are planning to deal with the bitterness (if any) that might have crept in their relationship due to their friction over the years, Anupam replied, “Certain relationships remain on the pause button and you start from where you left off. Anil and I have done the same."

About Anupam and Anil’s cold war
Long time friends Anupam and Anil have worked together in many films like ‘Karma,’ ‘Tezaab,’ ‘Ram Lakhan,’ ‘Lamhe,’ ‘Beta,’ etc. Anil even starred in Anupam’s directorial debut ‘Om Jai Jagdish,’ which did not do well on the box office.

However, this was not the reason for their clash; it happened when Anupam announced that he’s turning producer with ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara,’ with himself in lead.

Close on the heels, Anil, who had turned producer with ‘Badhaai Ho Badhaai,’ announced his upcoming ‘Gandhi My Father’ with some other actor in lead.

Reportedly, Anupam had assumed that Anil would be asking him to play the lead, but he did not even inform Anupam about his plan to cast sign someone else.

Sonam to rescue
As per Anupam, he realized futility of their fight while working with Anil’s daughter Sonam in ‘Mausam.’

“I would be very protective of her on the sets like my own daughter. That's when I felt that why continue with this cold war?” said Anupam, who had not attended Sonam’s debut film ‘Saawariya’s’ premiere.

Although, Anil had attended premiere of Sikander’s debut film ‘Woodstock Villa.’

Now that the two are friends again, we hope to see them together on-screen soon!
