'Milenge Milenge' producer Boney Kapoor accused Himesh Reshammiya for using the song 'Tanhaiyaan...

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present ...PRATEIK! His audition was pitch perfect (no wonder, with such a legacy!), and with and great charm he brought my Munna to life,” wrote the filmmaker in praise for Prateik.
Just like any other filmmaker, Kiran, post-production, is busy promoting her film. However, debutante filmmaker is not using traditional marketing strategies like holding press conferences etc, instead, she is writing postcards to attract attention towards her film.
It seems like Kiran has taken inspiration from her actor husband Aamir, who’s known for using unique promotional techniques for his releases.
‘Dhobi Ghat’, apart from Prateik, features Aamir Khan along with two new female leading ladies, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra, and is slated to be released on Jan. 21, 2010.
Search ended on Prateik
Kiran, who can boast of having worked with filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowariker, Mira Nair and Mani Ratnam as an assistant director, added, she relentlessly searched for the perfect actor to play ‘Munna', but had no success initially.
“I looked for my Munna pretty much everywhere- at the dhobi ghat, in leather workshops, on construction sites etc...And I finally found him at the Cast and Crew Screening of our very own film Jaane Tu...!,” wrote Kiran.
Interestingly, after reading the film's script, Aamir liked ‘Munna’s’ role so much that he wanted to play it. Kiran’s search could have ended there, but she wanted someone younger and a non-star actor for the role.
Unlike Aamir, Prateik is just one film old (‘Jaane Tu…’) and has yet to establish himself in Bollywood. He’s son of yesteryear actor Raj Babbar and immensely talented late actress Smita Patil.
Why so late
Kiran recently at an event revealed that she took her time to make her directorial debut as she does not believe in making meaningless films.
“I can only tell stories that are meaningful to me,” said Kiran.
Kiran was an ace pianist in her childhood and these days is busy revisiting her passion. Interestingly, she agreed to give her hubby some piano lessons too, in exchange of Marathi lessons from Aamir.
