Initially, the NGO’s were not happy with a smoking scene of Rani Mukherjee, one of the lead actors in NOKJ, in the official trailer. Apparently, they demanded the scene to be censored.

But now, a scene, where Rani shows her middle finger in the office corridor in the trailer, is facing Censors wrath, and they have presently insisted either to cut or blur it.

Produced by UTV Spotboy, NOJK, featuring Rani Mukherjee and ‘Paa’ famed actress Vidya Balan, is based on Jessica Lall murder case.

A little birdie familiar with the matter revealed, “The channels were shocked at Rani displaying her middle finger so explicitly on screen. Even if the Censors hadn’t objected to the promo, some channels would have chosen not to screen it.”

Believe it or not, the film’s trailer has been viewed more than 1,55,000 times on YouTube with comments appreciating the movie and Rani’s astonishing comeback.

The Censors reaction has come as a surprise for the ‘Aamir’ famed director, Rajkumar Gupta, and the producers, UTV.

Director Rajkumar Gupta is palpably upset with the Censors reaction and alleged that the trailer should be seen in a positive way, rather than targeting a particular scene.

Rajkumar Gupta said, “I am very disappointed. The trailer should be seen in the right context and not in isolation.” But the makers of the film apparently agree that very little can be done at this stage about it.”

An official from the UTV commented on airing of the scene, “Rani’s middle finger scene cannot be shown in the promo on television unless it is blurred.”

’No One Killed Jessica’ inspired from TOI
Indeed, the film is based on Jessica Lall’s murder case, however, Gupta revealed that the script and the title has been inspired from a headline in The Times Of India in 2006.

In the film, Rani portrays the role of Meera, a reporter, while Vidya Balan enacts the sister of Jessica Lall, Sabrina.

NOKJ is a hardhitting and entertaining film, where Rani will be seen smoking and hurling abuses. The film is expected to an eye opener with all apt facts and incidents.
